I was born in the very far north of the Scottish Highlands and moved south to Somerset in 2022. Originally qualified in Chemistry and Geology, I have now found a new love of glass and straw.
I love the science behind fused glass and the chemical reactions that can be achieved depending on the colours and inclusions used, drawing my inspiration from the surrounding Somerset countryside and of course Scotland. I mostly specialise in 3D pictures, but also fuse bowls and curved displays.
My other passion is using straw for weaving (Corn Dollies), a craft that dates back many centuries and probably has pagan origins. Unfortunately this craft is now a Red endangered skill on the British Heritage Craft list, I am a member of The Guild of Straw Craftsmen.
