My journey with willow began in 2000 when I attended a willow weaving workshop as a student. I was instantly captivated and have since chosen willow as my primary medium. The willow I use is cultivated on the Somerset Levels, just a couple of miles from my home, making it a wonderfully local and sustainable material.
For many years, weaving was a beloved hobby, as my full-time teaching career left little room for anything else. However, in 2022, after 33 years of teaching, I retired and launched Amanda Webb Makes creating and selling my sculptures while sharing my passion for weaving with others through running weaving workshops for people of all ages.
